      Storages

      What box sizes are there?

      Each Top Box self-storage warehouse has different storage boxes in sizes from 1 m³ to 22 m² with a ceiling height of 2.6 to 3.10 m.

      On request, we provide you with larger storage areas: 23-50 m².

      Is my property insured?

      Your property that you store in the Top Box warehouses must be insured for your personal protection.

      You can provide us with written evidence of your insurance. The insurance of the stored items can be made through your content’s insurance. Please ask your insurer for more information.

      Alternatively, you can take out an extra insurance contract for your stored property. You can also take out an insurance contract with Top Box when you conclude a rental agreement. This contract will run for the entire box rental period. The payment for the insurance is made monthly together with the payment of the storage box rental.

      The minimum amount insured is 4,000 EUR. The price for this cover is 5.00 EUR per month. If the value of your stored items is higher, you can gradually increase the amount insured by 1,000 EUR to a maximum of 10,000 EUR. The surcharge is 1.50 EUR for each 1,000 EUR above the base amount.

      The insured event shall be the damage, destruction or loss of the insured objects due to the following risks Fire (fire, lightning strike, explosion), tap water, storm / hail, burglary / vandalism, flood / earthquake.

      What things are not allowed to be stored?

      How long can I rent my space?

      The minimum contract term is one month. Your contract will then be automatically extended for a further month until you cancel it. Please note the notice period of 2 weeks. Payment for the rented box is made monthly. Upon termination of the contract, any excess amounts paid will be credited to you.

      What is the difference between opening and access hours?

      There is an office in every Top Box warehouse complex where our employees stay. They will be happy to help you with different issues and answer all questions that arise during the conclusion of the contract, the rental period and the release of the box. Our offices are open for you at the following times:

      You have access to rented boxes out of office hours, during the general opening times of the respective warehouse complex. These are daily from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.

      What should I do if I have lost my key or forgot the access code?

      Please contact our staff in the local office during opening hours – either in person locally or by phone. Our staff will be happy to help you.

      If I rent a storage room at Top Box, will my wife, children or friends have access to it?

      You can decide yourself which of your relatives, friends and acquaintances have access to your storage box. In order to do this, upon conclusion of the contract, you must create a list of people who will be granted access. They will receive your personal access code and the key to your box from you.       How is security guaranteed?

      After you have decided on a storage box and signed the rental agreement, hang your own padlock on your box, the key of which only you and, if necessary, other persons authorized by you have.

      Your storage compartment is a completely isolated room that is only accessible through the door. Nobody, including the Top Box staff, can enter your box unreservedly.

      In addition, the entire complex is equipped with a multi-level security system, which includes pin codes for access to the warehouse, 24-hour video surveillance, alarm system, motion detectors and security services. So you can be sure that our complex is reliably protected against unauthorized access.

      Reservation

      If you do not have the opportunity to conclude a rental agreement with Top Box at the moment, or if you have found a suitable box on our website and want to be sure that it will remain free until the contract is concluded, you can reserve it. The reservation is made, depending on availability and box type, for up to 30 days (including the booking date), whereby all prices and discounts that were valid at the time of booking also remain in effect for this period.

      How do I reserve a storage space?

      There are three options to reserve your preferred storage space:

      1. Online: Choose a suitable storage box and fill out the request form so that prices and discounts are still valid at the time of rental. Our staff will then reserve the desired box for you.
      2. By email: After your online research or phone call, email us at hallo@topbox.de
      3. By phone: Call us on our free hotline 0 8000 7 80000 and our staff will reserve your storage compartment for you.
      4. On-site: Visit one of our branches to view a storage room personally and reserve it.

      What do I need to make a reservation?

      When making a reservation, you must enter your name, email address and telephone number. You don’t need to enter any credit card or other payment information. The reservation is free of charge: You only pay the rent after you have signed a rental agreement.

      Do I have to pay for the reservation?

      The reservation of storage space at Top Box is free of charge. You can exchange the reserved box for another storage space or cancel the booking at any time.

      Our staff will be happy to help you with the reservation. Call us, write to us or visit us at one of our locations.

      Can I cancel my reservation?

      A reservation with us does not oblige you to anything, so you can cancel it at any time. Our staff will be happy to help you book a storage room. Call us, write to us or visit us at one of our locations.

      Payment

      How do I pay for storage?

      The first rental payment and the deposit must be paid no later than 3 days after the tenancy agreement start date This payment can be made in cash, by bank transfer, EC card or credit card locally. Further payments can be debited from your account by SEPA direct debit, you can also pay by bank transfer, cash, EC or credit card in our office.

      How much is the rent?

      You pay a monthly rent specified in the contract. We have no hidden or additional costs. Any unused credit will be credited to you when the tenancy agreement ends.

      The amount of the rent depends on the size and characteristics of your chosen box.

      You will receive all information about the prices either after your online request or from our staff, who you can reach by phone, email or in person locally.

      In addition to the rent, a deposit of one month’s rent is charged. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the tenancy agreement and when the cleared box is returned to you.

      Which payment methods are accepted?

      We accept cash, EC and credit cards (Mastercard and Visa, Visa Electron only in our branches). You can also pay by bank transfer or direct debit.

      What is the difference between an indoor and an outdoor storage room?

      There is no direct street access for indoor storage rooms. These are located in the multi-story buildings of our complex. All passageways and corridors are sufficiently wide, the buildings are equipped with freight elevators, loading and unloading area with lifting devices.

      The outdoor storage rooms are located on the first floor and have the advantage of direct access from the outside of the complex.

      Contract

      What documents do I have to submit to conclude the contract?

      In order to conclude a contract, we need from you:

      From private persons: a valid photo ID, a contact address (telephone, email)

      From commercial customers: Confirmation of your authorization to conclude a rental agreement (affiliation with the company, business card, power of attorney, etc.), a valid photo ID, company data.

      Is there a minimum rental period?

      The minimum rental period is one month. Your rental period will then be automatically extended by one month until you cancel the contract. The notice period is two weeks.

      Can I change my rented space if I need more or less space?

      You can change the rented storage space if the space no longer meets your needs. We will provide you with a more suitable place without incurring additional costs for exchanging the box.

      Do I have to terminate the contract when I move out of the storage box?

      If you no longer need your storage space, you have to cancel the rental contract and conclude a new one if needed again. The notice period is two weeks and the notice must be made in writing – by email, by post, by fax or you can give it directly to us at our office.

      How do I terminate the rental contract?

      The notice should be made in writing and sent to us either by email, fax or post. You can also submit the notice directly at the location. The cancellation latter should contain the tenant’s name, the storage box number and the date on which you wish to cancel the rental contract. Please keep the notice period of 2 weeks.

      Packing material

      Can I buy packaging materials from Top Box?

      At Top Box you get everything you need to equip your storage box, as well as safely transport and store your belongings. At every Top Box location, you will find high-quality packaging material, such as moving boxes and cardboard boxes, adhesive tape, bubble wrap and much more. At the same time, our staff will help you calculate how much and what material you need for your things and give you tips on how to best pack your goods.

      Even if you have not rented a storage room from us, you can purchase the above-mentioned packaging materials. You find current prices and offers on our website.
