Moving checklist
Every move means chaos and stress: Mountains of boxes are piled up, things are lying around all over the apartment. How should all this be best sorted and packaged? Which packaging materials are used for what? We will be happy to answer these questions so that you can make your move as stress-free as possible.
How many moving boxes?
Follow the following rule of thumb: 25-30 moving boxes per person or one moving box per m². The moving boxes should be double-walled or made of corrugated cardboard in order to withstand greater loads and to be used several times. Don’t skimp on the boxes. In the worst case, these boxes tear during the move, and that not only means stress for you, but also extra costs for new ones and for the extra time of the moving assistants. The moving boxes should be lockable, i.e. have a lid. This is important for the safe transport and dust-free storage of your things.
What is the maximum weight?
Make sure that the packed moving box does not weigh more than 10 kg so that this can be easily carried and stacked. Put heavy things, such as books, on the bottom of the box. Light items such as clothing or textiles are placed on top.
Label all moving boxes, especially the ones with fragile things. Mark the boxes with “top” and “bottom” as well as “Glass — handle with care!” or “Fragile!”. All labels should be clearly visible. In addition, it can be noted on the boxes which room they belong in. This simplifies sorting at the destination.

Be careful when transporting!
When distributing the moving boxes in the truck, the heavy boxes should also be placed on the bottom and the lighter ones on the top. For better orientation you can label boxes or mark them in colour.
Particular care must be taken with dishes, glasses and other fragile items. Wrapping paper and bubble wrap are a must here so that everything is well fixed and nothing slips.
